About Me
As far back as I can remember, I've had a great love and respect for the written word. Since I was old enough to read, I have done so voraciously, eagerly devouring any book I could get my hands on. As for the writing, that too came early and, throughout my life, it has been a source of pleasure, frustration, healing and growth. My amazing family provides me with abundant fodder for creative (and usually entertaining) writing. Ultimately, I hope it will lead me to my life’s ambition – to get that novel that lies within me onto paper.

I have more than 30 years of marketing and communications experience, primarily in the healthcare and education finance fields. My favorite opportunity by far was the management of a health and wellness magazine for which I served as project manager, editor and contributing writer. It was probably the most fun I have ever had at work.

Provide outstanding copywriting, editing & proofreading services for a wide range of clients in a broad spectrum of industries, including healthcare, education finance, fashion, retail & luxury goods. Creative Director/Copy Chief | Humana, The Hive The Hive is Humana's internal creative agency. Here, I coached, motivated and inspired a team of dynamic and talented copywriters and proofreaders. Together, we engaged members to achieve their best health by taking ownership of their overall health and well-being. At The Hive, we took a collaborative approach, working closely with design and client services to ensure every project went above and beyond client expectations and business objectives. As a new division, The Hive internalized work previously placed with outside agencies, saving the organization hundreds of thousands of dollars. Sr. Manager, Copy Team | CVS Health CVS Health is a leader in the retail pharmacy industry, with the largest, most respected loyalty program in the nation, CVS ExtraCare. Here, I led a team of copywriters, proofreaders and translation experts. Together, we collaborated with internal business leaders to develop content strategy and create strong, compelling creative that engaged customers, communicated our brand position and differentiated CVS/pharmacy in the marketplace. I also researched and implemented process improvements, including the LeanKit Kanban project management tool, which communicated project status at a glance, identifying inefficiencies and enabling workload rebalancing as needed. Manager, Direct-to-Consumer Marketing | Sallie Mae In my 13 years at Sallie Mae, originally Academic Management Services (AMS), I managed creative development for seven product lines. I led a diverse staff of writers, designers, proofreaders, print/production and sales support specialists. Together we increased job production 200%, while maintaining accurate, on-time delivery. I was also instrumental in the development and launch of TuitionPay, a new corporate brand strategy, which resulted in broadened brand recognition and increased account volume by 65% in the first year. |
