All About Animals
Why include content about animals in a "wellness" capacity? The simplest answer is: they bring joy and unconditional love. Beyond that, pets bring companionship, which can ease loneliness and depression. They can even help reduce blood pressure and cholesterol levels by encouraging us to add more regular exercise and play time to our days. So... sit, stay a while and read on!
Happy Tails Newsletter
For this newsletter, I wrote the content for A Grandparent's Love, Meet Jackson, Volunteers Needed and Who We Really Are. I also edited the entire piece. |
A Home For Felix
Felix's story is an article I wrote for the WSPCA newsletter. So often, the animals who come to us are victims of mistreatment or neglect. Humana
Humana: Medicare Member Toolkit
The toolkit was the brainchild of myself and my co-director on the design team. We were challenged to find a more effective, less expensive way to mail members who didn't necessarily need all the information in one large, full-size, bulky packet. I also wanted to make content more member-friendly, conversational and concise.
I pitched the concept of a smaller, lighter kit with modular components that could vary based on each member's plan. The client was skeptical, but the idea was eventually embraced and implemented. This format cut costs by hundreds of thousands of dollars.

As a side note, because of limited resources at RIQI, I also "designed" the two pieces above myself.
Please don't hold that against me.

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of RIOne of my favorite projects of all time was serving as managing editor for BCBSRI's Healthcare Directions magazine – a collaboration with the team from RI Monthly magazine. It was a challenging and rewarding experience as an up-and-coming writer and leader. To the right is a sampling of articles I wrote.
